Keros is the main spot on Lemnos (Limnos), a northern Aegean island. Lemnos is unique as it's a relatively flat island (max altitude ~470m), meaning the Meltemi crosses the island unblocked by mountains. Keros benefits from the Meltemi arriving from N/NNE with impressive consistency. The island is less touristy than the Cyclades, offering an authentic setting and uncrowded sessions.
Rideable May to September with the Meltemi. Ideal conditions: steady "clean" wind without mountain turbulence. Launch from the beach. Keros offers excellent water for all levels above beginner. Some water sports centers in season. Less crowded island = peaceful sessions.
Water with moderate chop in Meltemi. The clean wind (no turbulence) creates more regular and predictable chop than on mountainous islands. Sandy bottom. Warm, clear water in summer.

Parking accessible from Lemnos's roads. Parking near Keros beach. The island is well served by paved roads. Accommodation and restaurants nearby.
In strong Meltemi (+25 knots), challenging conditions. Coastal currents possible. Lemnos being less touristy, specialized rescue is limited. Ride with company. Check forecasts — wind can build quickly on this island with no obstacles.
Lemnos is a flat island — the Meltemi (N/NNE) crosses it undisturbed by mountains, unlike other Aegean islands. Wind arrives at Keros from N/NNE, constant and steady, without the turbulence and gusts caused by mountain topography. This is one of the "cleanest" winds in the Aegean. Consistent 15-25 knots in summer. The Meltemi is onshore to side-onshore on the Keros coast. The island also benefits from being positioned in the direct Meltemi flow from the northern Aegean.
