Tilegrafos is a spot on the west coast of Lesvos, south of Sigri. This spot is part of the island's western sector, benefiting from the same cross-shore Meltemi pattern that makes Sigri famous. Located slightly further south, it offers an alternative when Sigri's main beaches are crowded. The setting is wild and isolated with pebble and sand beaches.
Rideable May to September with the Meltemi. Launch from the pebble/sand beach. Cross-shore conditions similar to Sigri. No water sports center — spot for autonomous riders. The Sigri area to the north has gear rental and lessons if needed.
Open water with chop in Meltemi. No islet protection like at Sigri, so potentially more swell. Pebble and sand bottom. Crystal-clear water.
Intermediate
Open all year round
Access by track from the coastal road. Limited parking by the beach. Partially unpaved road. Isolated spot — bring water and provisions.
Isolated spot with no rescue nearby. Pebble bottom — be careful with falls. Ride with company and communication equipment. In strong Meltemi, challenging chop. Rocks at certain points along the coast.
Same wind pattern as Sigri: the Meltemi wraps around NW Lesvos and arrives from N/NNW cross-shore on the WSW-facing beaches. Wind may be slightly weaker than at Sigri as the coast starts getting more sheltered further south. Conditions of 12-22 knots in summer, with good consistency from June to September.
