Overview

Simos is the second spot on Elafonisos, next to Sarakiniko. This double white sand beach (Big Simos and Small Simos) is considered one of Greece's most beautiful beaches. Wind conditions are identical to Sarakiniko, with NW/W side-onshore wind in summer. The double tombolo creates two distinct bays offering variable protection depending on wind direction.

Parking

Paid parking at Simos in summer (the most popular beach on Elafonisos). Arrive early in high season. Access from Elafonisos village.

Hazards

VERY busy beach in summer — one of Greece's most popular. Swimmers everywhere, safety distance mandatory. No specialized rescue. Protected site.

Wind specificities

Same conditions as Sarakiniko: dominant NW/W/WNW wind in summer, 15-22 knots. Side-onshore on the south/west coast. The double tombolo offers a choice of two bays depending on wind: Big Simos (more exposed) and Small Simos (more sheltered).
