The Meltemi wraps around the Sitia peninsula and arrives from NW/WNW as side-onshore on this east-facing coast. Typical strength 15-25 knots from June to September. The channeling effect between Crete and Kasos/Karpathos strengthens the wind.
More consistent wind in the afternoon. Possible gusts due to local terrain effects. Excellent reliability in peak summer.
