Anissaras is a kitesurfing spot on the north coast of Crete, east of Heraklion near the tourist resort of Hersonissos. The north-facing beach receives the onshore Meltemi. A developed tourist area with numerous hotels and resorts.
Wind conditions are typical of the north coast: reliable onshore Meltemi in summer. Spot suited for intermediates with good water conditions.
Launching from the beach. Busy tourist area – find launch space away from swimmers. Respect marked zones. Works from June to September.

Parking in the Anissaras/Hersonissos tourist area. Numerous hotels and shops. Easy access from the Heraklion-Agios Nikolaos national road.
Onshore Meltemi from N/NNW, 15-22 knots from June to September. Classic north Cretan coast conditions. Wind is reliable and consistent in peak summer. Possible thermal reinforcement in the afternoon.
Very busy tourist zone – watch for swimmers. Possible rocks in the water depending on area. Moderate coastal current. Excursion boat traffic in summer.
