Peenemunde is located at the northern tip of Usedom island, on the Baltic coast. The spot offers a huge standing area (shallow zone) — one of the largest on the entire German coast — with small waves further out. Wide sandy beach, with no groynes or obstacles. The best entry point is 2-3 km north of Karlshagen towards Peenemunde: the further you walk left along the beach, the flatter and shallower the water. Ideal for beginners and lessons.
Usedom is nicknamed "Sonneninsel" — one of the sunniest regions in Germany (~1,900h of sunshine/year). Best season: March-mid June and September-November.
Surf and kite school of Peenemunde / Karlshagen — all-level courses, equipment rental. Kitesurfschule Windsport Usedom also present on the island.
Large paid car park (~4 euros/day) directly at the spot. 2-3 minutes walk to the beach. Paid toilets on site. Respect swimming zones (FKK very common on Usedom — nude bathers, do not approach them with the kite). No Kurtaxe at Peenemunde unlike neighbouring seaside resorts.
Open all year round

Large paid car park at the spot entrance (~4 euros/day). Toilets on site (paid).
Baltic coast: best directions E, NE and SE. These winds give beautiful side-to-onshore conditions. In westerly winds and the region's prevailing winds, prefer the Achterwasser spots (Ueckeritz lagoon side) which work in W to SW wind.
