Spot de sorlock

sorlock

sorlock

Overview

Its rather unique orientation allows kitesurfing with North to North-East winds. It's one of the few spots that allows this. However, be careful of rocks when the tide goes out.
This small bay is protected by the Merquel point and
On the other side of the point, the Merquel inlet also allows navigation while being careful of boats, poles and other obstacles.

Parking

In winter, autumn, spring, right in the streets next to the beach.
In summer it's more challenging...

Hazards

Submerged rock in the middle of the bay. Visible at low tide from coefficient 70
So when foiling, be very cautious. It's better to locate it at low tide before playing above it!

With north-east wind, very flat spot but on-shore orientation

Wind specificities

In July and August lifeguards are present, make sure to launch from the channel (on the left side of the beach) and don't venture into the swimming area... The reminder of the rules will be quick and firm from the lifeguards.
The beach is no longer supervised after 7pm but be careful in summer as there are still people around.

Tide:
Rather a spot for the end of the falling tide. During rising tide with south-west to north-west wind, the water gets choppy but remains nice for playing in the swell. Not ideal if you're looking for flat water.
