Pampelonne — famous 4 km beach south of Saint-Tropez (commune of Ramatuelle). A prime destination for wind sports.
Interesting spot in easterly wind: beautiful waves at Le Pinet (northern part of the beach), nice swell in the middle of the bay. Prevailing SW wind also rideable.
KITE FORBIDDEN IN SUMMER — restrictions are in place from mid-June for summer, sailing allowed only from 6pm. Off-season: quiet spot with plenty of space.
Water Glisse Passion: non-motorised water activities on the beach.
Access: Ramatuelle, direction Plage de Pampelonne. Paid parking in season.
E/ENE: THE reference wind — beautiful waves in the northern part (Le Pinet), swell in the middle of the bay. Shore break present.
SW: prevailing wind also rideable, onshore conditions.
NW (Mistral): doesn't work well at Pampelonne — prefer Beauvallon or l'Almanarre.
MID-JUNE TO MID-SEPTEMBER: sailing allowed only from 6pm. Very busy beach. Off-season: space and tranquillity.
