Baie de Lancieux is the most versatile spot on the Côte d'Émeraude — one of the very few on the north Breton coast to work in S wind. Extends from Lancieux to Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer. Ideal for beginners (large shallow area at low tide), but can be overcrowded. Managed by Emeraude Kite association. Bay bottom is a protected ornithological nature reserve.
Emeraude Kite (emeraudekite.com) — reference association managing spot regulations for the whole Côte d'Émeraude. App available. EVORIDE (evoride.fr) — itinerant school active on Lancieux/Saint-Malo spots.
Multiple launch points depending on wind direction and tide — see Emeraude Kite map (umap.openstreetmap.fr). At high tide: launch from plage en fond de baie (S/SW), Pissote (S-NE), Rougeret à Saint-Jacut (N/NE), Saint-Cieux à Lancieux (N/NW), Briantais (NW). At low tide: preferably launch from the centre of the bay, away from hazards. Freeride/freestyle mainly, occasional small waves. App available on emeraudekite.com.

Open all year round
Bay full of rocks — ride in the centre of the bay. Overcrowding: one of the only spots in the region working in S wind — many riders concentrate here. S/SW winds: offshore toward Jersey — never ride alone, never persist if you can't hold your upwind tack, stop immediately. Bay bottom: ornithological nature reserve — no navigation from end of October to March 31. Summer: specific restricted zones (red zones on Emeraude Kite map). Plage de la Pissote and la Manchette: launch forbidden at high tide.
Works in all orientations — unique on the north Breton coast. S/SW: offshore wind toward Jersey — gusty and irregular, high danger. W and E: gusty and irregular depending on tide. Better alternatives: Le Sillon (west wind) or Cancale (east wind). At low tide: extensive shallow area ideal for beginners. At high tide: multiple specific launch points depending on orientation (see Emeraude Kite map).
