Overview

La Grande Côte is a kitesurf spot on the Côte Sauvage de Royan (Charente-Maritime), north of Royan between Saint-Palais-sur-Mer and the Phare de la Coubre. This wild Atlantic-facing beach catches South and North-West winds — the two dominant directions on this exposed coast.

Ocean spot with waves and strong Atlantic swell. The Côte Sauvage is aptly named — a powerful and wild coastline with strong currents. Recommended for experienced riders. No swimming in many sections due to dangerous conditions. A spectacular natural setting.
