Part of the Wind Valley — 280+ days of wind/year. Vue Canigou. Between Éole (east) and Parc des Dosses (north), at the southwestern corner of the bassin.
UCPA Centre Méditerranéen du Nautisme — Avenue de la Coudalère. Main UCPA base for Barcarès. Kitesurf, windsurf, catamaran, SUP. All levels. Stage and courses. Access from A9 exit 40, then Port Barcarès exit 12 Lido Coudalère.

Year-round. UCPA base open seasonally (April-October). Best: all year, sheltered shallow water ideal for learning.
Beginner
Étang water. Very shallow — can stand almost everywhere. Flat by Tramontane NW. Muddy/sandy bottom — shoes recommended. Algae possible in summer. Safe for beginners. Protected from open étang chop.
UCPA parking at Centre Méditerranéen du Nautisme, Avenue de la Coudalère. Public parking in front. From A9 exit 40 → direction Leucate → Port Barcarès exit 12 Lido Coudalère → follow "Centre Nautique".
Tramontane (NW): main wind, attenuated compared to Leucate/Goulet. Flat and sheltered. Marin (SE): onshore, easy. School spot: UCPA uses this zone for beginner kite/windsurf courses. Shallow, safe, no current.
Shallow water: very shallow étang — can stand in most places. Safe for beginners but risk of hitting bottom on hard landings. Tramontane gusty: can pick up suddenly. Muddy bottom: shoes recommended. Algae in summer possible.
