Boulogne-sur-Mer is a kitesurf spot on the Côte d'Opale (Pas-de-Calais), near the main port city of northern France. The beach faces west into the English Channel, well oriented for the dominant South-West to West winds of the Channel coast.

Large tidal range — check tide times before riding. The area around the port can have boat traffic — pay attention to navigation rules. Strong and gusty winds are common, especially in autumn and winter.
