Salmistu is a small coastal village east of Tallinn, on Estonia's north coast. The kitesurfing spot offers a water body facing the Gulf of Finland.

The beach is sandy and the water shallow. North to north-west winds are most favourable, blowing onshore to side-onshore. The spot is less known than those in the Tallinn area, offering more tranquillity.

Salmistu is about 50 km east of Tallinn. The season runs from May to October. The spot suits beginners and intermediates.
