Formby is a long sandy beach on the Lancashire coast, between Liverpool and Southport. The spot offers vast stretches of sand at low tide, facing the Irish Sea. The beach is bordered by dunes and a pine forest. Nature reserve with red squirrels.

Hazards
Very strong tidal currents — the sea rises quickly on the flat beach. Quicksand in some areas. Dangerous incoming tide due to very flat beach. No rescue nearby.
