Woodman Point is one of the best kitesurf spots in the Perth metropolitan area, Western Australia, offering conditions suited to all levels. Located about 23 km south of Perth, this remarkable spot actually comprises three distinct beaches with different conditions, making it an extremely versatile location. The southeast beach offers shallow waters ideal for beginners. The southwest beach can be flat or offer fun small waves. The north beach offers mirror-flat water perfect for freestyle, but is reserved for advanced riders due to the offshore wind. The "Fremantle Doctor" blows from the south and southwest very reliably from October to April, typically between 15 and 30 knots. Access is easy with a large free car park. Showers, toilets, and barbecue areas can be found in the adjacent park. Several kite schools operate at the spot (Perth Kitesurfing School in particular). The proximity to Fremantle allows you to combine kite sessions with city outings to enjoy restaurants, cafes, and craft breweries. Nearby spots include Safety Bay (45 min south, a world-renowned spot), Seal Island, and Pinaroo Point to the north. Watch out for rocks at low tide in some areas and jellyfish in summer.
