Wedge Island is a kitesurf spot located on the mid-west coast of Western Australia, between Lancelin and Jurien Bay. This wild and isolated spot offers excellent sailing conditions with a body of water sheltered by reefs and very consistent winds. The prevailing winds from the south to southwest blow strongly in summer. The body of water is varied, with sheltered areas behind the reefs and exposed areas. The spot is suited to intermediate to advanced riders. Conditions are similar to Lancelin. Wedge Island is a community of shacks with no formal services. Access is by 4WD track. The spot is very popular with fishermen and kitesurfers on weekends. Watch out for reefs and currents.
