Waitpinga is a kitesurf spot located on the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, south of Victor Harbor. This wild beach exposed to the Southern Ocean is renowned for its powerful waves and demanding conditions. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest, blowing onshore to cross-onshore on this very exposed coast. The Southern Ocean swell is powerful and waves can reach several metres. The bottom is sandy with reef sections. Currents are strong and unpredictable. Waitpinga is a spot reserved for expert riders only. The beach is isolated, with no lifeguards or rescue services. Shark risk is present in this area. Riding with a buddy is mandatory and significant wave experience is required.
