The Cutting is a kitesurf spot located on the southwest coast of Victoria, between Warrnambool and Port Fairy. This spot gets its name from a cut through the cliffs that provides access to the beach below. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest to west in summer. Waves are moderate to strong. The bottom is sandy. Access is via a path through the cut in the cliff. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suited to intermediate to advanced riders. The water is cold, a thick wetsuit is necessary. Limited access, parking at the top of the cliff. Less crowded than the main beaches.
