Spot de Tasmania - St Helens Point

Tasmania - St Helens Point

Tasmania - St Helens Point

Overview

St Helens Point is a kitesurf spot located on the northeast coast of Tasmania, near the town of St Helens, the largest town on the east coast. The spot is at the entrance of Georges Bay and offers varied sailing conditions between the sheltered bay and the ocean beach. The prevailing wind comes from the northwest to north in summer. The point offers varied conditions depending on wind direction: flat water in the bay or waves on the ocean side. The water is cold but slightly warmer than the west coast. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suited to intermediate riders. St Helens offers all the amenities of a coastal town: accommodation, restaurants, shops. It is an ideal base for exploring the Bay of Fires to the north.
