Lancelin is a world-renowned kitesurfing spot located about 130 km north of Perth in Western Australia. This small coastal village is considered the mecca of kitesurfing in Western Australia, offering perfect conditions with a turquoise lagoon sheltered by an offshore reef and some of the most reliable winds in the country. Lancelin has hosted numerous international competitions. The prevailing south to southwest winds, the famous "Fremantle Doctor", blow with exceptional consistency during summer, with speeds of 20-30 knots almost daily from November to March. The inner lagoon offers a flat and shallow water surface, perfect for freestyle and learning, while the outside of the reef provides waves for wave riding. It is truly one of the best spots in Australia across all disciplines. Lancelin has accommodation (caravan park, rentals), a few restaurants and a supermarket. Parking is beachside. Lancelin's white sand dunes are also famous for sandboarding. Beware of coral reefs in the lagoon and currents in the channels. The spot can get very crowded in summer.
