Spot de Kurnell

Kurnell

Kurnell

Overview

Kurnell is one of the most popular kitesurfing spots in Sydney, located on the south shore of Botany Bay in New South Wales. Kurnell is arguably the windiest place in Sydney thanks to its flat topography that does not disturb the airflow, making almost all wind directions rideable. The spot works best in northeast wind, which is typically 5 knots stronger than elsewhere in the bay and significantly less gusty. Northwest (onshore) also works but can be gusty. The water surface offers flat water to light chop in the sheltered bay. Access is via Prince Charles Parade towards Boona Point with good parking and a grassy area for rigging.
