Johanna Beach is a wild kitesurfing spot located on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. This isolated and spectacular beach is surrounded by green hills and exposed to the full power of the Southern Ocean. It is a renowned surf spot for its powerful waves. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest to west, blowing onshore to cross-onshore. The waves are very powerful with direct Southern Ocean swell, potentially reaching several metres. The bottom is sandy but the currents are violent. The spot is reserved for expert riders only. The beach is remote with no lifeguards. Rip currents are extremely dangerous. The water is cold, a thick wetsuit is mandatory. Always sail with a buddy. This is a spot for big wave enthusiasts.
