Henley Beach South is a kitesurfing spot located on the metropolitan coast of Adelaide in South Australia, along the Gulf St Vincent. It is one of the most accessible urban spots in Adelaide, just minutes from the city centre. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest in summer (thermal sea breeze), blowing cross-shore to cross-onshore. Conditions in the gulf are relatively calm with small waves. The water is shallow near the shore, making it a good spot for beginners. The best season is from November to March with regular afternoon thermal breezes. The spot is well equipped with parking, showers, toilets and numerous cafes and restaurants along the esplanade. Be aware of the patrolled swimming zone and potential kitesurfing restrictions.
