Goolwa Beach is the ocean spot of Goolwa, located at the mouth of the Murray River in South Australia. This surf beach exposed to the Southern Ocean offers powerful wave conditions combined with the region's reliable thermal winds. The prevailing southwest wind blows onshore to cross-onshore, creating excellent conditions for wave kitesurfing. The Southern Ocean swell can be significant, with waves regularly reaching 1 to 3 metres. The bottom is sandy and the beach is very long, offering unlimited space. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suitable for advanced riders due to the power of the waves and currents. The beach is accessible by 4WD on certain sections. Beware of currents at the Murray mouth and the power of the shore break.
