Cossack Beach

Cossack Beach

Overview

Cossack Beach is a kitesurf spot located in the Pilbara region, near Karratha, in northwest Western Australia. Cossack is a historic former port town, now a heritage site. The spot offers tropical conditions with warm waters year-round. The winds follow a seasonal pattern: the southeast trade winds blow during the dry season (April to October), offering the best conditions. During the wet season, winds shift to the northwest with possible cyclones. The best period is from May to September. Access is from Karratha. The spot is isolated with very limited services. Watch out for saltwater crocodiles in the area and significant tides. Check cyclone warnings during the wet season.
