Spot de Busselton

Busselton

Busselton

Overview

Busselton is a kitesurf spot located in Geographe Bay, in Western Australia. This seaside town is famous for its 1.8 km jetty, the longest in the Southern Hemisphere. Geographe Bay offers a vast and relatively flat body of water, sheltered from Indian Ocean swells by Cape Naturaliste, creating ideal conditions for beginners and intermediates. The prevailing south to southwest winds (the "Fremantle Doctor" which extends this far) blow side-onshore on this northwest-facing beach. Summer thermal breezes are regular and reliable. The water is flat with light chop, without significant waves in the sheltered bay. It is one of the best learning spots in the region. Busselton is a tourist town with all necessary services. Parking is abundant along the beach. Watch out for the jetty which is a fixed obstacle and for patrolled swimming areas. Avoid riding too close to the jetty.
