Spot de Aldinga Beach

Aldinga Beach

Aldinga Beach

Overview

Aldinga Beach is a popular kitesurf spot located south of Adelaide, in South Australia, on the shores of Gulf St Vincent. It is one of the most frequented spots in the Adelaide area, valued for its varied conditions and accessibility. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest in summer (sea breeze), creating cross-shore to cross-onshore conditions. The beach is long and the bottom sandy. Waves are generally small in the gulf but can build during winter cold fronts. The water is relatively shallow near the shore. The best season is from November to March, with afternoon thermal sea breezes blowing regularly between 15 and 25 knots. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediates thanks to the relatively calm gulf conditions. Parking available along the beach. Aldinga Reef, a marine reserve, is located nearby.
