Punta Araya is a kitesurf spot located on the Araya Peninsula, in the state of Sucre, Venezuela. This arid peninsula juts into the Caribbean Sea and benefits from the consistent northeast trade winds. The wind blows between 15 and 25 knots, mainly from December to May. The peninsula offers shallow and relatively flat waters on the south side, while the north side is more exposed to waves. The spot is uncrowded and offers a wild setting. It is suitable for self-sufficient intermediate to advanced riders, as there are no kitesurf facilities on site.
