Ritoque is one of the most popular kitesurfing spots in central Chile, located in the Valparaíso region, near Quintero and Santiago. The long sandy beach offers reliable and regular wind conditions. The dominant "Papagayo" wind blows from the south-southeast between 15 and 25 knots, picking up mid-morning with a peak in the afternoon. The main season runs from September to March. The wind is side-onshore. The sandy bottom and gradual depth make this spot accessible to all levels. The water is cool (15-20°C), wetsuit recommended. Several rows of waves can form with large swells.
