Puclaro is a kitesurfing spot on the Puclaro dam lake, in the Elqui Valley, Coquimbo region of Chile. This artificial lake at 500 m altitude offers flat water conditions in a spectacular mountain setting. The thermal valley wind blows regularly in the afternoon between 15 and 25 knots from September to March. The wind funnels into the Elqui Valley, creating reliable conditions. The spot is suitable for intermediate riders. The lake water is warmer than the ocean. No tides or ocean currents.
