Bahia Inglesa is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots in northern Chile, located in the Atacama region. Nicknamed the "Chilean Caribbean", this bay offers calm and crystal-clear waters in a spectacular desert setting. The south to southwesterly wind blows in the afternoon between 15 and 22 knots from September to March. The bay offers sheltered flat water areas, ideal for learning and freeriding. The spot is suitable for beginner to intermediate riders thanks to the calm bay waters. The water is warmer than elsewhere in Chile (17-20°C). Good tourist infrastructure on site.
