Cuesta del Viento - Fincas del Lago is a kitesurfing spot located on the Cuesta del Viento dam, in Rodeo, San Juan Province. It is one of the best kitesurfing spots in the world, with over 300 windy days per year exceeding 20 knots. The wind picks up mid-morning and intensifies considerably in the afternoon thanks to a valley channelling effect, reaching up to 50 knots when "La Claudia" (a local cloud formation) arrives. The 3,000-hectare body of water offers flat water against a backdrop of dark rocks and green water. Small equipment recommended (sails of 4-5.5 m2). Suitable for advanced and expert riders.
