Wasaga Beach is the world's longest freshwater beach (14 km), on the south shore of Georgian Bay. The spot faces north toward the bay with excellent fetch. The beach is divided into numbered zones (Beach 1 to 6), each with a different vibe. Major Ontario summer destination, very busy. NW to NE wind crosses the bay over tens of kilometres.
Georgian Bay fresh water. Flat to choppy. Fine sandy bottom. Excellent fetch from the north (30-50 km depending on direction). Warm water in summer (18-22°C) — the shallow bay warms quickly. Progressive depth over sand. Waves in strong N wind.

Extremely busy beach in summer — strict swimming zones. Kitesurfing is generally restricted to certain zones (Beach 5-6 or far ends). Check local regulations. Sudden thunderstorms. Coastal currents possible. Jet-skis and boats in summer.
