Kitesurf spot at Varennes, on the St. Lawrence River east of Montreal. The river widens in this area before forming Lac Saint-Pierre downstream. The spot offers a freshwater area with moderate fetch. Varennes is easily accessible from Montreal (30 min) and offers an interesting alternative to Lac Saint-Louis spots to the west. The south shore of the river is relatively shallow in this area.
