Rafferty Dam is a reservoir in southeastern Saskatchewan, created by the Rafferty Dam on the Souris River. This prairie reservoir offers accessible kitesurfing conditions with shallow waters and exposure to prairie winds. The flat surrounding terrain ensures regular, unobstructed wind. The reservoir is a popular fishing and recreation destination in the Estevan area. Note: a duplicate exists (ID 9263) at a slightly different location.

Prairie reservoir. Shallow, flat water. Muddy/sandy bottom. Chop limited by shallow depth. Freshwater warming quickly in summer. Regular prairie wind without obstacles. Ideal conditions for progression.
Violent and sudden prairie thunderstorms. Muddy bottom that can trap. Cold water in spring and fall. Currents possible near the dam — maintain distance. Rural area remote from emergency services. Algae in late summer.
