Rondeau Provincial Park is a provincial park on a sand peninsula in Lake Erie, near Chatham-Kent. The peninsula creates a protected bay to the north (Rondeau Bay) and an exposed shoreline to the south. It's one of Ontario's southernmost provincial parks, with exceptional biodiversity (Carolinian forest). Popular camping in summer.

Lake Erie fresh water. Lake side (south): chop to waves, good fetch. Bay side (north): flatter and more protected water. Sandy bottom. Warm water in summer (22-26°C). Shallow in the bay. Lake Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes.
Provincial park — strict regulations, wildlife protected zones (species at risk). Kitesurfing may be restricted. Lake Erie can become very rough. Sudden and violent thunderstorms in summer. Mosquitoes in the evening.
