Mission Beach is a spot on the northwest shore of Lac la Biche, one of northern Alberta's largest lakes. The site takes its name from the historic mission founded in the 19th century. This shore offers different access from the Main Pier to the south.
From the northwest shore, southeast winds cross the lake with maximum fetch. Northwest winds are offshore here, to be avoided. Unique natural and historical setting. Season from June to September.

SE wind onshore but NW offshore — adapt spot choice. Large exposed lake. Summer thunderstorms. Relative isolation. Abundant mosquitoes in early summer.
