Main Pier is the primary access point to Lac la Biche, a large lake in northeastern Alberta (234 km²), at 542 m altitude. The main pier is in the town of Lac La Biche, on the south shore of the lake.
Lac la Biche is one of Alberta's largest natural lakes, offering considerable fetch. Northwest and southeast winds are most frequent and productive. Main Pier offers easy access with parking and town services. Season from June to September. Active local kite community.
Fresh water. Temperature of 18-22°C in summer. Sandy to muddy bottom. Large lake with significant fetch — well-formed waves in sustained winds. Islands in the center can modify the fetch. Average depth.
