Kitesurf spot at Anse-à-l'Orme, on the south shore of Lac des Deux Montagnes, at the western tip of Montreal island. This urban spot is one of the most accessible in the metropolitan area. The cove offers partially sheltered water with moderate fetch toward the west/northwest. The Anse-à-l'Orme nature park provides a pleasant setting with parking and beach access. Popular spot among Montreal's kite community.

Freshwater lake with moderate fetch (5-8 km depending on direction). Short chop in sustained westerly wind. Sandy to muddy bottom, progressive depth. Freshwater warming in summer (18-22°C in July-August). Shared sailing area with sailboats and kayaks — stay alert.
Shared navigation zone with boaters, sailboats and kayaks. Shallow areas possible in some spots. Violent thunderstorms possible in summer — monitor weather. River current noticeable at certain times. Paid parking in season.
