Super Scaredy Cats is a launch spot in the northwest corner of Keho Lake, specially named to reassure beginners. It's the safest place on the lake to learn kitesurfing.
The northwest corner is sheltered from the strongest Chinooks and offers a very shallow area where you can stand everywhere. Wind is generally lighter than on the rest of the lake thanks to the sheltering effect. Ideal for first waterstarts and progression. Season from May to October.
Open all year round
Beginner
Very shallow area — you can stand everywhere. Warm fresh water (18-22°C). Muddy to sandy bottom. Light chop thanks to northwest corner protection. Limited but sufficient sailing space for learning. Ideal for kite lessons.
Even in this sheltered area, Chinooks can be powerful. Very shallow bottom — watch for fins and falls. Limited space — don't venture too far. Prairie thunderstorms with lightning. Low water level possible in late summer.
