Speed Beach is a spot on the west shore of Keho Lake, renowned for its ideal speed conditions. As its name suggests, this beach is favored by riders seeking maximum speed runs.
The west shore is exposed to Chinook winds as offshore, allowing long runs parallel to the coast. Chop is minimal on the west side when wind comes from southwest (short fetch), offering a flat surface ideal for speed. Reserved for experienced riders due to offshore wind. Season from May to October.
Flat to light chop surface — ideal for speed. Shallow fresh water (18-22°C). Short fetch on the west side minimizes waves. Muddy bottom. Optimal conditions for speed kiting and GPS challenges. Variable water level.
