Southwest Kite Beach is a launch spot in the southwest corner of Keho Lake. This area offers a different orientation from other lake beaches, allowing sailing in north winds in addition to classic Chinooks.
The southwest position on the lake gives interesting fetch with northeast winds, complementary to the usual Chinook conditions. The spot is less crowded than Kite Beach, offering more space. Season from May to October.
Shallow reservoir. Warm fresh water (18-22°C in summer). Muddy bottom. Variable chop depending on wind direction. This area is more sheltered in classic Chinook winds but excellent with north winds. Variable water level.
