Tylösand is one of the most iconic kitesurfing spots on the Swedish west coast, located about 10 km west of Halmstad city centre, in Halland County. Tylösand beach is considered one of Sweden's 12 most beautiful sandy beaches, offering an exceptional setting for water sports. The spot is in the Bay of Laholm (Laholmsbukten), offering a vast body of water with a sandy bottom and gradual depth. The calm waters near the shore and more pronounced waves offshore make it a versatile spot, suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. The beach is wide and offers plenty of space for rigging and launching kites. The prevailing westerly and southwesterly winds blow side-shore, creating ideal kitesurfing conditions. The season runs from March to November, with the best conditions in autumn when winds are more consistent. The water remains relatively cool, requiring a full wetsuit for most of the year. Tylösand has many amenities nearby: restaurants, accommodation, and kite schools like Kitekalle which has been offering lessons since 2009. However, be aware of restrictions during the summer period when swimming is supervised.
