Sønderstrand is a large sandy beach on the east coast of Jutland, facing the Lillebælt (Little Belt). Vast sandbank area creating shallow waters ideal for beginners. Small waves form in easterly winds. In summer, marked swimming zone in the north (red buoys) — kitesurfing prohibited in that area.

Swimming zone marked by red buoys at the north end in summer — ride outside this area. Swimmers and cars on the beach. Currents possible. Heavy beach use in summer (June-August).
