Stunning scenery: views of the village of Bages, Île de l'Aute (conservatoire du littoral), ancient salt pans, thousands of waterbirds (flamingos, cormorans). Windsurf, wingfoil, catamaran, SUP. Beginner-friendly — calm flat water, ideal for learning and progression.

Étang de Bages-Sigean. Calm, shallow lagoon. Flat water ideal for learning. Chop builds by strong Tramontane. Thousands of waterbirds — respect wildlife. Ancient salt pans nearby.
Parking at the base nautique de Port-Mahon. Picnic area. Easy access. 5 km from Sigean town centre.
Tramontane (NW/NNW): dominant wind. Same Tramontane corridor as La Nautique and Vieille Nouvelle. Can be gusty.
Marin (SE/S): also works, more regular.
Calm lagoon — ideal for learning windsurf and wingfoil. Base nautique with professional instructors.
Parc Naturel Régional de la Narbonnaise — protected area. Respect wildlife (thousands of waterbirds: flamingos, cormorants), flora and fishermen.
Shallow lagoon — water shoes recommended.
Calm water ideal for learning but wind can be gusty by Tramontane (NW corridor).
