Beautiful kite, windsurf, wing spot located in the north of Fuerteventura island. This spot works well when there's trade wind (the dominant wind in the Canary Islands).
The spot is located in the Corralejo Natural Park where you can find beautiful sand dunes and is just a few minutes drive from the village of Corralejo.
In the north of the island, the trade wind is less strong than in the southern part, but the wind is quite consistent.
In summer, the wind generally blows between 18-25 knots.
Experienced riders under supervision can kite all the way to Lobos Island.
It's possible to park along the road next to the spot on the FV-104. Be careful not to leave anything in your car as the parking area is about 200m from the beach.
Wind specificities
This spot works with the northeast trade wind.
When it's from the north it can still work but the wind will be slightly offshore and less strong near the beach.
The wind is quite regular and significantly less strong than at Sotavento.
Wind generally between 18-25 knots.
Nice waves on some days that break over the reef.
The kite sizes that riders typically use at this spot are generally between 9m2-11m2.
Hazards
Watch out for swimmers in the water.
Be careful of people on the beach
Although the beach is mainly white sand, there are many rocks underwater that sometimes surface depending on the tide.
Be careful not to go too far out to avoid long swims back.
Depending on the orientation, Lobos Island can modify the wind in the area.
