One Eye is a world-class reef break that works with south and southwest swells. The wave breaks over a very shallow coral reef, delivering a perfect barrel when conditions align. Best period: May to September (southern winter). Works from mid-tide to high tide — at low tide, the reef is too exposed and dangerous. Ideal size 1 to 3 meters, but can hold up to 8 meters. Access is through the Manawa channel (safest) or the small channel past Chameau (for experienced riders only, mid to high tide only).
Powerful and fast reef break with hollow, barreling sections. The wave peels right to left over a very shallow coral reef (50 cm to 1.5 m of water). Water is crystal clear and warm (25-28°C). Lateral current can be strong and push toward the reef. Even when small (1-2 m), the wave is already technical. When big, it's one of the most committed spots in the world. Surfers are frequently present: surfers have priority on the last section of the wave (very shallow zone).

Parking at the foot of Le Morne, on the main Le Morne beach (lagoon side). Access to One Eye is then by kite from the lagoon through the channel, or by boat. There is no direct parking at the spot as it is located on the offshore reef. Schools and clubs (Ion Club, etc.) offer boat shuttles.
Cross-offshore wind predominantly from East to South-Southeast. The trade winds are accelerated and channeled by the Le Morne Brabant mountain, creating powerful and consistent conditions. Wind can be enhanced by thermal effect in the afternoon. Warning: the wind blows offshore, making return to shore difficult in case of problems.
