Levanto is a charming coastal town at the entrance to the Cinque Terre, on the Riviera di Levante. The large sandy beach faces south/southeast, in a bay open to the Ligurian Sea. The spot is renowned for its waves in southeast swell (Scirocco/Marin). Surfers and kiters appreciate the conditions which can be powerful. The Libeccio (SW) arrives side-shore. Levanto is also an excellent starting point for visiting the Cinque Terre.
Paid car parks in Levanto. Large car park near the station. Spaces along the seafront. In summer, parking is in high demand (gateway to the Cinque Terre).
Hazards
Powerful shore break in SE swell. Currents in the bay. Rocks at the ends. Busy beach. Sometimes challenging conditions.
