Technical details of North West Point spot
Required level
Beginner
Spot opening date
Open all year round
Spot currently open :-)
Parking
Access via the paved track, then on a fairly soft sand track (better be confident in your driving skills...). Parking in one of the clear areas near the water.
Hazards
CAUTION there are some coral heads just below the water surface, especially on the northern edge of the channel. Get familiar with the area before going full throttle.
The coral areas are otherwise easy to spot. The water is crystal clear and if the light isn't too deceptive with sun in your eyes, you'll see where you're putting your feet.
It's a bit trickier on a foil, where you need to know how to manage riding at height in case of a surprise... ;-)
Wind specificities
Rideable mainly with North wind.
With South-East wind, the problem is the proximity of the downwind point and the fact that the next islands are far away...
But you can just launch a bit more upwind if needed.
