Hejsager Strand is an 800 m beach on the east coast of southern Jutland, facing the Lillebælt (Little Belt), between Haderslev and Kolding. The wind is remarkably stable as it passes over the hills behind the beach, creating an acceleration effect. Water gets deep quickly — you must be able to relaunch your kite and water-start. Exemplary safety infrastructure (emergency phones, defibrillators every 700 m).
Open all year round
Intermediate
Flat to choppy water, generally little current. But note: water gets deep quickly (up to 15 m near shore) — no standing area offshore. Sandy bottom. Clean water. Temperature: 18-23°C in summer, 8-13°C in spring.
STAKES in the water — real hazard, spot them before the session. Many swimmers in summer (June-August) — popular family beach. Deep water quickly — relaunch and water-start ability mandatory. Year-round grillbar/takeaway on the east side. Parking, toilets and showers available.
